A university student of English in Finland is doing her BA Thesis on Kate Bush fandom and needs your fan stories by December 7th. She would like to ask you to write your personal stories on what it means to be a Kate Bush fan. The following link contains the official instructions for the task and contact information for further inquiry. Time to put your hard-earned fan status to academic use 🙂

I have been a fan of Kate Bush since 1985 when I first heard her song “Running Up That Hill ( A Deal with God )” ! I was going to college for one year up in Canada . I had to find out who sang that song ! I went to school with two Irish girls and they told me it was Kate Bush . They informed me that she was really popular in Great Britain and Ireland . One of the Irish girls told me that there was a rumor in Ireland that Kate was a witch because she always wore black ! I laughed ! I ran out and bought the album “Hounds of Love” ( which I still have ) . I loved every song on that album ! I also proceeded to buy all of her previous albums . I have every album Kate Bush has made . She is a musical genius and she’s my favorite female performer !

I’m sorry, but “fan status” and “academic use” just do not go together “in my book.” Good luck in academia.

Wow that sounds awesome! I submitted my story. Good luck with the research. 🙂 Basically, I heard of her via Wuthering Heights, which was my fav book at the time (high school in the early 2000s), got The Whole Story, and have been a fan ever since! 🙂
